A dynamic speaker and educator, Matt has addressed thousands of professionals at state and national conferences, colleges, academies, and public safety organizations across the country.
 

As the Founder and CEO of Foundations Public Safety, Matt leads a mission-driven organization dedicated to equipping public safety professionals with the skills, mindset, and leadership tools needed to thrive in today’s challenging environment. His programs focus on preparedness, mental health, leadership, and resilience—empowering agencies to better serve their communities.
 

With extensive experience across Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Telecommunications, and Emergency Medical Services, Matt is also a trusted consultant in the design and functionality of computer-aided dispatch systems, records management systems, and disaster preparedness initiatives. His training programs have impacted thousands of Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics and 911 Telecommunicators nationwide.
 

A veteran of both the United States Air Force and the United States Army, Matt serves as a commander and rotary-wing aviator with the U.S. Army Reserve, bringing proven leadership and composure to complex, high-stakes situations.
 

Throughout his career, he has played pivotal roles in major public safety initiatives, including the statewide rollout of a computer-aided dispatch system that trained thousands of first responders. His hands-on experience includes officer-involved shootings, major investigations, and life-saving operations as both a Firefighter and an EMT.
 

Matt’s career includes service as a State Trooper, Police Officer, Narcotics Detective, Police Health and Safety Officer, Field Training Officer, and Guest Instructor at the Kentucky State Police Academy. In fire services, he has served as a Fire Instructor, Company Officer, Swift Water Rescue Technician, Ice Water Rescue Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician. He has also served as a Communications Training Officer, reinforcing his comprehensive understanding of the entire public safety spectrum.
 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Upper Iowa University and a Master of Science in Leadership from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Matt’s diverse background, real-world experience, and dedication to advancing the public safety profession make him a respected leader and influential voice in the field.
